This year’s regular issue of Nordicum-Mediterraneum comprises seven new scholarly articles, dealing with heterogeneous Nordic and Mediterranean topics, that underwent the standard process of double, blind peer review, plus another contribution, which arises from last year’s Akureyri-based conference on policing and society and was similarly subjected to the same standard process of double, blind peer review. Additionally, there appear therein the numerous peer-reviewed abstracts of the talks and posters to be presented at the 6th conference on sustainability which will be hosted this April by the University of Akureyri, and the select proceedings resulting from from the public symposium entitled “Humour and Culture,” which was held at Akureyri Municipal Library last November and saw the involvement of humour scholars, comedians, writers, and other academics. Five book reviews and one review essay on recent publications are included as well, plus four additional contributions on various themes, such as the celebration of longer than twenty years of Modern Studies (Nútímafræði) at the University of Akureyri. The journal’s editorial team wish to convey hereby their gratefulness to all contributors.
