She was employed at the Science and Research Centre, University of Primorska from 2008 to 2016 as an early stage researcher for the field of ethnic studies. In 2016 she defended her doctoral thesis entitled Human Rights and Nationalism. She is a co-editor of the book Unaccompanied Children in European Migration and Asylum Practices: In Whose Best Interests? (2017, Routledge, Taylor and Francis Group).
