Håvard Nilsen (b. 1969) is an intellectual historian educated at the University of Oslo, Norway, and Université Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France. His research topics have been history of psychology and psychoanalysis as well as modern political history. He was Research Fellow at the University of Oslo 1999—2003 and University Lecturer 2003—2005. He was Visiting Scholar at the Dept. of History and Philosophy of Science, University of Cambridge 2000—01, and is a Life Member of Clare Hall, Cambridge. Today, Nilsen is the Director of the Norwegian think tank Res Publica.
